“Two is as real as it gets. Two songwriters, interpreters, guitar players, and singers at their peak. It’s the power of the song, the highest quality from the past to the now. It’s two friends, brothers, uncompromising performers…” – Errington Memorial Hall

Emily Triggs (Trio)

Emily Triggs is a bred-in-the-bones roots musician. As a songwriter, her philosophy is simple: all of life’s experiences, for better or worse, can be mined for the raw materials of a good song – hence her mantra of “no regrets”. She is an observer of the world around us.

“I’m pushing the boundaries of what I consider folk – and bringing in influences I’ve had over the years,” she says.

Those influences span the Deep South with the likes of Lead Belly, through Texas blues, strains from the Appalachian Mountains to her early years in French Canada.

“At the end of the night, I’d like the audience to feel they’ve had a bit of a cross-Canada journey, a Canadian experience. That we’ve connected and shared an intimate experience together,” Triggs says.
